Antwerp by Day: Nature in the city
Before 1878, this area was used as a gallows field. Once there was no need to have such an area, it was transformed into a park. This place is a top favorite for a picnic, dog walking, and running. If you want to combine it with other activities, it is close to De Koninck brewery!

The stadspark (translation: city park), is the Central Park of Antwerp. However, before becoming a park, this triangular-shaped area was a military fortress during the 19th Century. In the past, the park had negative fame, which has completely changed nowadays to a favorite place for runners and joggers, and families to go with children!

The Rivierenhof is a big versatile park. Besides great trails for running, you will find a golf club, a castle, a rose garden, statues, a playground, and a beautiful open-air concert venue, which is functioning during summer. Bands such as The Mars Volta, Blackwave., and Flogging Molly are a few of the concerts planned for 2023!

The Middelheimpark is great if you want to enjoy nature combined with art. The park has several sculptures along the paths. In the same area, you will find the Middelheim Museum, displaying modern art. In the same area, you will also find the park Nachtegalen and Den Brand.
